Working With Friends of Austin Animal Center

One of the things we love as trainers is helping dogs stay in their homes. It is honestly the most important part of keeping euthanasia rates low at our local shelters. Keeping dogs in their homes, whether it is dogs who are newly adopted or who have been there for a while, helps to lower the amount of surrenders and strays.

These kinds of cases can be anything from helping people make it through puppyhood AND adolescence to helping newly adopted dogs get the help they need when transitioning to a new life, or settling in with their new foster family. It can even include more serious behavior problems like reactivity and aggression.

We have been so lucky to be able to work with a lot of families in this position thanks to a great organization, Friends of Austin Animal Center. This organization helps to make getting quality professional training more accessible all around the central Texas area.

FOAAC (Friends of Austin Animal Center), helps connect adopters and fosters to professional trainers throughout the area and gifts them with 2 paid for training sessions, sometimes more, depending on the specifics of the case. We have met some pretty amazing dogs and people through this program and it has been a joy to watch them flourish and build new and lasting relationships.

If you have benefitted from training with us, I hope you consider heading to their donation page and help pass on the knowledge. You can send a monetary donation here, or head to their Ways to Give page to find their Amazon and Chewy wish lists as well as other great ways to support them.
