What Fall Festivals CAN I Take My Dog To


Now that we've talked about if you should take your dog to the festival, let's talk about where! Here is a list of the dog friendly fall festivities that we have been able to find around the Austin area!


Puptopia Festival

When: 10/21/23 10am-5pm

Admission cost: $30-$40

Where: Pease Park - 1100 Kingsbury St, Austin, TX 78703

Details: A true dog-fest. Enjoy day long activities at this pup-centered event. Shop dog-industry vendors, enjoy specialty food and beverages for you and your pup, treat your dog to the SPAW, try out some agility, watch demonstrations & more at this dog lovers festival for dogs!


Werewolf Costume Contest with Happy Hearts Dog Rescue

When: 10/25/23 5pm-9pm

Admission cost: Free

Where: Meanwhile Brewing - 3901 Promontory Point Drive, Austin, TX 78744

Details: Meanwhile Brewing is hosting their annual dog costume contest There are limited spots for the contest so RSVP and sign up now to secure your pups chance at competing. For those who would rather spectate, there will also be a dog friendly market, dog tarot readings and more to explore!


Barktober Yappy Hour

When: 10/27/23 3pm-11pm

Admission cost: Cost of dining, at patrons discretion

Where: Luminaire - 721 Congress Avenue, Austin, TX 78701

Details: Treat yourself and your pup to a night of dining out together. Austin restaurant Luminaire is serving up a dog friendly food and drink menu, including “barkuterie” boards and K9 Lager. May need to reserve a table ahead of time.


Elgin Christmas Tree Farm Pumpkin Patch

When: All Saturdays and Sundays in October 10am-7pm

Admission cost: $10

Where: Elgin Christmas Tree Farm - 120 Natures Way, Elgin, TX 78621

Details: No reservations required. Bring your pup and head out to Elgin for one of the best pumpkin patches Central Texas has to offer! Enjoy food and beverage, picnic areas, photo-ops with your pets and activities including taking a train or hay ride, and getting lost in the hay maze. This is an all ages event, pawfect for the entire family.


People & Pups Halloween Costume Contest

When: 10/28/23 3:30pm-5:30pm

Admission cost: Free

Where: Michael Ros Winery - 982 Old San Antonio Road, Fredericksburg, TX 78624

Details: Head into the hill country with your pup for an afternoon of wine tasting complete with a costume contest for humans and canines! Reservations for tasting are encouraged but not necessary to participate in the event. Stay awhile and enjoy live music and local eats.


Bethany’s Annual Pumpkin Patch Fundraiser

When: 10/13-10/29 Mon-Fri 12-2pm, 4:30-7pm Sat 10am-6pm, Sun 12-6pm

Admission cost: Free

Where: Bethany Lutheran Church & Preschool - 3701 W Slaughter Lane, Austin, TX 78749

Details: Pets must be on leash and kid friendly. All are welcome to come pick out a pumpkin and take some festive fall photos with your dog. Proceeds of pumpkin sales benefit Bethany’s Students, their student ministry.


Buda Farmers Market

When: Year round on Sundays 10am-2pm

Admission cost: Free

Where: Downtown Buda - 408 Main Street, Buda, TX 78610

Details: Take a stroll down Buda’s quaint Main Street, enjoy some cool fall weather with your pup and check out all of the local vendors the Buda Farmers Market has to offer. From farm fresh produce to specialty houseplants to handcrafted merchandise, there is sure to be something for everyone.


Jester King Brewery Nature Trail

When: Year round Friday 2-9pm, Saturday 11am-9pm, Sunday 11am-8pm

Admission cost: Free

Where: Jester King Brewery, 13187 Fitzhugh Road, Austin, TX 78736

Details: You’ll want your hiking shoes and hands free leash for this one. Grab a brew, your pup, and take a walk around Jester King’s 2 mile Nature Trail, open to the public during operating hours. Bring plenty of water and don’t forget a portable bowl for this hike! Be sure to stop by to see the goats and fill up on some of their amazing wood-fired pizza along the way. This is a family friendly property.
