Classes
Classes are a great option for training your dog. Our classes are focused on having fun with our dogs and developing new skills in higher distraction environments. Even if the specific skills in the class aren't exactly what you need to work on, group classes can be a great way to continue working on your dogs existing skills.
Usually the popular place to start is a Basic Manners or Foundations class. But committing to six consecutive weeks of classes can be difficult, and trying to learn so much in a short period of time can mean not getting a thorough understanding of the behaviors. We have decided instead of holding a weekly class, to break our Foundations class into a series of workshops. This gives our students the ability to take things at their own pace and really dig in deep to each set of skills.
As well as our Foundation Workshop Series we also offer some advanced workshops and some fun extracurricular's. You can find all the details for the different group sessions we offer below.
Remember, we do not have a location! Final locations for our classes will be set closer to the dates, but you will find general locations for each class below.
Foundation Workshops

Beginner Basics
$50/session
Our Beginner Basics workshop is all about the first two skills you think about when you think about Basic Obedience: Sit and Down. In this workshop we will go over how to teach sit and down if your dog doesn't know it yet. If they do, then we will go over next steps! How to make your dog's skills snappier and stronger, and how to generalize them so that your dog will reliably respond to cues. We will also work on starting a very helpful skill that we don't often hear about, Touch. Touch is a great skill to teach our dogs how to greet people politely, as a backup recall, and a foundation for fun tricks!

Come Here!
$50/session
A strong recall, or coming when called, is one of the most important skills your dog can have. Not only could it save your dog's life in a dangerous situation, but it can also allow your dog the freedom to truly enjoy off leash spaces.
Maybe your dog comes to you when you're in the house, but as soon as there are any distractions it's like they can't even hear you. Maybe you dream of taking your dog on off leash likes or to dog friendly beaches, but you know they would take off out of sight as soon as you unclip the leash. Or maybe your dog has a blast in the backyard, chasing squirrels and barking at the neighbor, but they don't want to come back inside.
Regardless of your dog's current skill level, this workshop will build the foundation so that you can reach your goals. We will cover why your dog may not be coming when called currently, how to get your dog to "check in" with you, how to build a new recall from scratch, and what to do in the meantime when your dog is still learning. We will make coming when called fun for the dog, so they turn on a dime and get back to you as quickly as they can!

Just Relax
$50/session
A patio dog is in high demand, especially in Austin. It's so fun when our dogs can accompany us to a coffee shop or brunch with friends. But how do we ensure our dogs are comfortable and skilled enough to join us? Though there are a few things to consider, this class is a great first step. In this workshop, we'll focus on different skills to help our dogs settle and relax around distractions. These skills can also transfer to the house and social situations. They are a must for our enthusiastic and jumpy greeters. Beginners and well practiced pups are welcome to attend.
Please bring a mat or blanket with you to class!

What Do You Have
$50/session
Leave It and Drop It are two skills that can be really difficult to teach, and get mixed up a lot. We spend this workshop making sure that our dogs understand both skills: 'don't pick that up', and 'put down the thing you picked up'. We will spend time working through the beginning stages of leave it with food, and using toys to work on drop it. For this workshop you will need to bring two of your dogs favorite toys with you to practice!

Lovely Leash Walking
$50/session
Beautiful loose leash walking is the goal for all of us. No one enjoys being dragged along on a walk and getting their shoulder pulled out of it's socket. It is also one of the most frustrating things to teach our dogs. In this workshop we will go over the best techniques to get started on the right foot with your dog's leash walking skills, and spend some time going over which tools will be your best friends through this journey.
During the level two workshop we will focus on refining the skills learned in the first workshop and creating some truly lovely leash walking.

Advanced Workshops

Canine Good Citizen
$50/session
The Canine Good Citizen is a title that you can earn from the AKC. In order for your pup to earn the title they have to pass a 10 item test that demonstrates their good manners. They need to be able to politely greet a stranger, walk through a crowd without jumping, tolerate being handled by a stranger, walk on a loose leash through a course, ignore other dogs, display the ability to sit, down, stay, and come when called, and be calm around distractions. They also need to be able to do all of this without treats!
These workshops are designed to help you prepare to take the test. During each workshop you will work through the test items and identify the areas where you need to practice with the help and direction of a trainer to support you. There is no limit to how many prep sessions you can attend!

Extracurricular's

Parkour Class
4 week class, $200
You may have heard of Parkour. It might strike images of young adults jumping between roof tops or bounding off walls. That is just one side of Parkour. The founders of the International Dog Parkour Association (IDPKA) have brought the principles and philosophy of human parkour to the dog world. In this class, your dog will learn the foundation skills for dog Parkour and prepare to earn dog Parkour titles. These skills include putting two and four paws on a variety of objects, as well as moving over, under, in, and around objects smoothly.
More than skills, your dog will gain confidence in exploring and interacting with their environment. Dog Parkour, when taught with IDPKA's philosophy, helps dogs gain confidence in their choices and communications with their owner. Most importantly, it is a lot of fun. Dog Parkour adds a new element to every day walks and activities. We hope you will join us for this new adventure.

Parkour in the Park
$50/session
When you first start learning Parkour skills it is best to start with a safe and secure setup. But Parkour is all about exploring the world in a new way! To qualify for titles with the International Dog Parkour Association (IDPKA), as well as get the true full enjoyment of the sport, we have to be able to demonstrate the skills in different locations and with real world obstacles. This can be a challenge to navigate on your own.
In our recurring Parkour in the Park workshops, we will visit different local parks to help each other find safe and appropriate Parkour obstacles! We will practice advancing our skills in the real world, and we can even film title qualifying submissions. A park will be chosen before the workshop that is centrally located to everyone who has signed up for that particular workshop. You must have completed a Novice Parkour class before joining this workshop.
